ANNOUNCEMENT: Lumen Ad Mortem to release upcoming record "A Grave Ascent" on Hypnotic Dirge

South Australia’s Lumen Ad Mortem was formed in 2019, reawakening the fires of the night sky in the name of anthemic black metal.

From cold ashes, the band was forged through smoke and flame, drawing inspiration from primeval times — an era when grim melodies rose from the forest floor and blasting rhythms carried embers into a raging inferno, igniting the spirit of all that is black metal.

After releasing their acclaimed debut album Upon the Edge of Darkness in 2023 via Bitter Loss Records, the band brought their live ritual to festivals and venues across Australia, delivering performances steeped in atmosphere, intensity, and unrelenting force.

In 2025, Lumen Ad Mortem entered the studio once more to record their second full-length album, descending further into the abyss to forge a sonic landscape of chilling melodic ferocity and suffocating atmosphere. Lyrically, the new album draws from the Australian wellspring of loss, death, and the undying spirit that refuses defeat, driven by an unrelenting force of cold and undeniable vengeance. All is set within an ancient landscape, where the vastness of time and darkness renders human existence utterly insignificant.

The new record, entitled "A Grave Ascent" will be released on Hypnotic Dirge Records in June 2026.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Dysthymia to release upcoming record "The Morning Darkness" on Hypnotic Dirge and Red Nebula

New England depressive black metal band, Dysthymia, was conceived in 2019 by members Grushenka Ødegård and Ray King. Releasing their self-titled debut full length in 2021 and a split with Saeva in 2024, the band crafts music which evokes despondency, isolation, and hopelessness.

The new record, entitlled "The Morning Darkness" will be jointly released by Hypnotic Dirge and Red Nebula in late summer 2026.
